This map uses your device's GPS to reveal your location to other authorized wizards. Marauder's Map collects location data to display your footprint trails on the parchment and share real-time movement with your trusted contacts, even when the app is closed or not in use.
All Personal Identifiable Information (PII), including your Name, Magical Handle, and exact Coordinates, are protected with advanced AES-GCM encryption before they ever leave your device. Only those with the proper magical permissions can decrypt this data.
Your location is NOT public. Only wizards you have explicitly added to your 'Trusted Marauders' list can see your footprints on their map. You have full control over who is in this circle.
Location tracking remains active as long as the map is 'unsealed' (a persistent notification will be visible in your system drawer). To stop tracking and instantly wipe your current coordinates from the database, you must select 'Mischief Managed' within the app. We do not maintain a permanent historical record of your past travels.
We use Firebase Authentication to ensure your identity remains secure. You can choose a unique handle to represent yourself, keeping your true identity as secret as you wish.
To request deletion of your magical identity and all associated data, please contact the map creator at pskampany2026@gmail.com. Upon request, we will permanently remove your account and all encrypted profile data from our enchanted servers.
